Just when I thought it wasn't going to get any better than Asian Day, Indian Day surprised us on Monday. I obviously do not speak French and it never clicked that LE BOEUF AU CURRY meant Indian and that's what was on the syllabus for Monday. Clearly, my brain is toast. However, I did learn (and taste) today that the French do have their own curry. It's strange, but good...and kind of sweet...so it's mostly weird. We'll leave the curry to Thai and Indian food.
I have a little fact for you before we get into the menu: the difference between Thai curry and Indian curry is that Indian curry traditionally used dried herbs and spices while Thai uses fresh herbs and spices. Maybe you know that, maybe you didn't, but I thought it was a cool fact.
Here was our menu for the day:
LES BEIGNETS DE CONFIT DE CANARD
Fried Duck Confit
LA SALADE FRISEE
To justify frying the duck confit...
LE BOEUF AU CURRY
Beef Curry
LE RIZ DED BASMATI
NAAN BREAD
